The Misadventures of Wyoming's Mail | More Perfect Union
Rob Jackson was cinematographer for More Perfect Union
14 minutes | 2024
Postmaster DeJoy wants to make the USPS more efficient. So his solution is to take mail from rural Wyoming towns, send it to be sorted in Denver, and then ship it back to Wyoming again. It's not just absurd. It's also a template being implemented nationally that is disastrous for postal workers and rural residents. And it's going to make all of our mail slower, too.
Cinematographer Notes: Rob travelled to Cheyenne, Wyoming and surrounding areas for several days for this documentary-style news gathering production with producer Brooke Darrah Shuman and More Perfect Union. The shoot was comprised of on-the-fly interviews as well as minimalist sit down interviews using largely natural light with an occasional LED to supplement, b-roll filming and aerial cinematography. Special thanks to the welcoming postal workers and everyone else around Cheyenne who were willing to appear on camera and share their personal experiences as well as the information to make this video possible.
