Bridging the Digital Divide | PBS12
Directed, co-produced, filmed and edited by Rob and Chelsea Jackson for PBS12
26 minutes | 2022
Access to the internet is vital in our modern society. It keeps us connected to our family and friends, helps us learn and makes it easier to see and appreciate the world around us. Follow the stories of Laura, Zane, Trey and Roy to learn how access to the internet is changing lives in Colorado.
*This program was conceived as three separate 5 to 7 minute online pieces. PBS12 later asked us to stretch these into a single longer show built on the foundation of the three short videos and utilizing additional footage that had been recorded along the way.
Filmmaker Notes: Rob and Chelsea completed interviews, cinema vérité and b-roll filming, as well as aerial cinematography locally in the Montbello, Park Hill and Five Points neighborhoods of Denver, and Lakewood. Special thanks to this show’s participants for sharing their stories and experiences on camera with us, as well as to Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, John Amesse Elementary School and PCs for People for opening their doors for us to film at their locations. Chelsea’s principal roles were Director and Editor while Rob was Co-Producer and Director of Photography, with some overlap as usual.
